New Mexico housing sales opening doors

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Realtors Association of New Mexico reports 6,920 sales from January through May 2015 – an increase of more than 6 percent statewide year over year. Last month alone, home sales were up almost 10 percent with 1,673 homes sold in May.

Bernalillo County numbers show May home sales up more than 10 percent with 661 homes sold and the median house price in the county increased $5,000 to $189,000. Year-to-date sales in the county are also up 10 percent over 2014 with 2,582 homes sold January through May of this year.

This growth puts New Mexico on track to have its best housing numbers since 2006.
